Whatever. Like we need anymore of these snot-nosed brats around here. Especially with his record.

— Wayside the Movie

Principal Kidswatter is the principal of Wayside School.

Personality[]

In the books, Mr. Kidswatter takes the position of the quick-to-anger principal of Wayside School. His first major appearance in "Eric, Eric, and Eric" demonstrates this. In this chapter, Mr. Kidswatter discovers a mean note written by Eric Bacon, though it is only addressed as "Eric." He interviews all three Erics, questioning them with vast frustration. Mr. Kidswatter oftentimes lets his anger get the best of him, causing him to make impulsive or irrational decisions, such as banning the word "Door" after walking into one by mistake and spilling coffee on his suit in "A Bad Word." He is stubborn, as he claims his decision is final after banning the word "door."

Mr. Kidswatter hates the students of Wayside School, and frustratedly referring to them as "snot-nosed" in "A Message from the Principal," and usually ignoring their concerns, though as is revealed in "The Gonnnnng," he does want them to like him, as they rarely greet him on the stairs. As is revealed in this chapter, he rarely does nice things for the students, only doing it because Louis suggests the kids will like him more if he does.

Mr. Kidswatter appears to show intense focus when something is particularly bothering him, as he even notices the handwriting on the card in "Eric, Eric, and Eric" is written by a left-handed person. he may occasionally even forget the name of the school he is the principal at. Mr. Kidswatter appears to want more attention, as in "Flowers for a Very Special Person," he is excited to get flowers from Louis, remarking he doesn't have many friends. Mr. Kidswatter is presumed to be unpleasant to be around, as Louis proceeds to refer to him as a "maggot-infested string bean."

In the cartoon, Principal Kidswatter is self-centered, eccentric, and immature, yet at the same time, endearing and something of a "lovable old fool" and is more goofier, lighthearted, and much nicer than he was in the books. As his name suggests, he does not like children. He goes into a fetal position whenever his is scared of something. He has his own weird vocabulary, calling the kids Watchamacallits and Todd his address, 344 South Fairview, the doors Goozacks and the walls, Charisma.

Mr. Kidswatter always calls Myron certain names that begin with M like for example, "Martin", "Morgan", "Melvin" and "Martha". He called him Myron when Myron took his glasses off. His 'helper' Louis is always there to help him because he tends to get himself into more trouble than needed.

Kidswatter doesn't consider the kids much, in fact, on one episode when they were trying to appreciate him, he got afraid. He has an odd relationship with Ms. Mush, the school's cafeteria lady and nurse, being as sometimes he likes her and sometimes doesn't.
