Synopsis[]

The students try to throw Principal Kidswatter a surprise birthday party, but he thinks they are trying to get rid of him. Meanwhile, Todd feels upset about being left out of helping with the party and thinks he does not belong at the school.

Plot[]

The episode begins on Mr. Kidswatter's birthday, as he walks into the school, though he briefly has to hide from a pair of kindergarteners. He continues inside, but is briefly afraid when he sees some of the students in Mrs. Jewls's class conversing in the lobby. He explains to Louis that he can't trust them, with the strange looks they give him. Louis explains that the looks in question are smiles, but Mr. Kidswatter is insistent that they are preparing to take him down. He claims however, it'll take a lot of work to get him, before walking into the door, which Louis opens. After the coast is clear, Louis asks the kids what they are doing, and they explain they are hiding a birthday card from Mr. Kidswatter, because they want to make it the best day of the year for him. Mr. Kidswatter is shivering in his office, thinking it's the worst day of the year, expecting the students to overthrow him on his birthday. He decides he needs a spy who can help him learn about what the students are scheming.

In Mrs. Jewls's class, Todd shows up, learning that it is Mr. Kidswatter's birthday. He offers to help out, but all the party favors are taken care of, save for signing the card, which he starts, before it's taken away by a cow. Todd admits that he is still new to the school to Dana, and that Mr. Kidswatter still calls him by his address, rather than his name. Myron objects that Mr. Kidswatter would ever do that, only for Mr. Kidswatter to do just that as he calls Todd to the third story landing, secretly, over the P.A. system. Todd walks downstairs, and hears Mr. Kidswatter, eventually finding him in disguise as a cow. Todd suggests that Mr. Kidswatter should improve his disguise with a mustache or a wig, and Mr. Kidswatter writes it down, thinking Todd must have experience with spy work. Mr. Kidswatters explains that he chose Todd because he's a new kid, meaning that he doesn't quite fit in with the other students, and that he can trust him to report back any suspicious activity from the thirtieth floor. Mr. Kidswatter makes his leave, while Todd heads back to class.

In Mrs. Jewls's class, everyone is preparing for Mr. Kidswatter's birthday party. The three Erics and Sharie are preparing balloons, Stephen is preparing the music, Maurecia and Fluffy are preparing confetti, and Myron has prepared a chocolate sculpture of Kidswatter's head. Todd enters the room, asking if there's anything left to do, but Dana asserts all plans have been taken care of. Todd asks again if there's anything at all, and Dana decides there's one important thing he can do, which is hold the binder with their party plans. Todd starts to worry that he's not actually part of the class, while the rest of the students prepare for the party in the gym.

Mr. Kidswatter calls for Todd again over the P.A. system, reporting to the principal's office this time. Mr. Kidswatter shows off his new disguise: a wig that barely obscures his identity at all. Todd explains that he thinks Kidswatter might've been right about him not fitting in, and Mr. Kidswatter welcomes him to the club, explaining that as lone wolves, they must stick together. Todd is confused by this statement, saying that they wouldn't be lone wolves this way, but Mr. Kidswatter gets distracted by the binder full of party plans, taking it into his office. He's scared, rushing out of the office, and handing them off to Louis, thinking all of the party plans are evil plots to take him down. Mr. Kidswatter decides he needs to hunker down in some place secure, and decides to take refuge in the gym.

Which is a terrible idea, considering that's where the party is. Mr. Kidswatter stumbles into the gym, unable to see anything due to the lights being off. Dana asks Myron to turn on the lights, and he turns on a spotlight on Kidswatter by mistake, before correcting himself. Mr. Kidswatter sees all the kids wishing him a happy birthday, and is once again startled by their hideous smiles. He looks for Todd, who was asked to hold the chocolate replica of his head, and seeing that Todd supposedly wants him decapitated, decides that Todd is one of the savage children, and that he is the only true lone wolf in the school. Later that day, Mrs. Jewls, Todd, Maurecia, and Dana are wheeling Mr. Kidswatter up to the nurse's office in a wheelbarrow. Mrs. Jewls claims that she appreciates Todd's help, and that together, they are all like one big family. Myron walks in, holding the remains of Mr. Kidswatter's chocolate head, and asks if anyone wants the ear, but upon hearing this Mr. Kidswatter freaks out, and the wheelbarrow falls back down the stairs, ending the episode.
