Hit you?! When have I ever hit you? - Maurecia in "Pull my Pigtail"
Maurecia (also called Sister Mo by Jenny) is a 10-year-old girl student from Mrs. Jewls' class on the 30th floor of Wayside School. She is a tomboy, even though she is often extremely emotional, due to her crying outbursts. She also has an obvious crush on Todd and frequently punches him in the shoulder, apparently to show affection for him.
Despite her personality and masculine-oriented clothes, Maurecia used to be a polite and gentle girly girl with a soft Southern accent until the evil substitute teacher of the 30th floor, Mrs. Gorf turned all of the other students into apples. The wicked woman also turned Maurecia's pet porcupine, Fluffy (who was, at the time, quite literally "fluffy") into a pineapple. Something inside of Maurecia then snapped which caused her to become tough, tomboyish, wheels extreme and self complete with rollerblades and a hot-pink helmet. When Fluffy changed, Maurecia suddenly changed, too. She ordered Mrs. Gorf to turn all of the students and Fluffy back to their original forms and defeated her, causing Mrs. Gorf herself to be transformed into an apple. When the apples were students again, Fluffy had gone from being a pink, fluffy creature into a light green porcupine with extremely sharp quills.
Appearance
Maurecia is not really a girly girl, judging by her colorful, boy-like style. She generally wears a blue pleated skirt and a long-sleeved dark pink top. She also usually wears a hot-pink helmet with light blue flames outlined, paired with white and pink roller blades with white straps, white wheels and a blue stripe with white outlines down the front of each.
She is hardly seen without her pet porcupine Fluffy.
Maurecia has bluish-purple hair which is usually tied in a high ponytail with a red ribbon. In "Todd Falls in Love," Maurecia's hair is shown to be long and wavy.
In her early design, her hair is reddish-pink, her skin is lighter and she is shown to have sky-blue eyes.
