Characters[]

Plot[]

Sharie spends most of her time in class either staring out the window or sleeping. Mrs. Jewls doesn't care, because she thinks people learn best when staring out a window or sleeping. One day, Sharie falls into a deep sleep due to the combination of hot weather and her huge overcoat, so Mrs. Jewls points Sharie out as a good example to the class. While Sharie is sleeping, she falls out the window. Since the classroom is thirty floors up, Sharie has a very long way to fall. She has such a long way, in fact, that she falls ten stories before she wakes up and doesn't know where she is. But Sharie doesn't seem to be worried that she's plummeting through the air. She just pulls her hood up and goes back to sleep. Fortunately, Louis sees Sharie falling, so he scrambles to the rescue and catches her just in time. Sharie seems unaware of what happened and asks Louis why he woke her up. Louis carries her all the way back up to class. Because she spent so much time sleeping in class, Sharie has too much energy to sleep at night.

Memorable Quotes[]
